Frank Buonomo is a strategic communications, marketing, and business leader with more than 30-years of experience strengthening brands, accelerating growth, and leading in high-pressure environments where reputation and results matter. He is known for calm leadership under pressure and clear, practical strategy across marketing and brand management, corporate and executive communications, crisis communications, media relations, community engagement, and stakeholder management.
Frank previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Brentwood Bank, where he led the organization’s marketing and product development, corporate communications, public and community relations, government affairs, brand management, and strategic outreach, supporting customer engagement and revenue goals.
Previously, he was Vice President, Public Affairs at Dollar Bank, directing corporate communications, public relations, and crisis management, overseeing executive communications and community engagement, while leading government affairs, fundraising efforts, and strategic partnerships.
In parallel, Frank is the Founder & CEO of Buonomo Group, a strategic business consulting firm working with organizations on media relations, branding, marketing, and operational strategy. His client work spans sports, venues, media, and business, including Marsblade, Highmark Stadium, the New Jersey Devils, Ice Castle Arena, and The Players’ Tribune.
Earlier in his career, Frank spent two decades in professional hockey across multiple NHL organizations, blending communications, team operations, and business integration in performance-driven environments. His experience includes leadership roles with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, as well as president and GM of the Missouri River Otters. He also held communications and operations roles with the St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, and New York Rangers. While with the Penguins, Frank was part of the organization’s 2009 Stanley Cup Championship.
Frank is also active in community leadership, serving on several nonprofit boards, including the Children’s Homeless Education Fund, Downtown Neighbor Alliance, United Way, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. He also volunteers his time coaching youth and high school hockey. Frank earned a B.A. in Communications and Sports Management from Rutgers University, while playing four years of collegiate hockey.
Frank lives in Upper St. Clair, PA with his wife, Kristen and they have two adult sons.
