New York, NY – MAD Global Strategy, a leading bipartisan public affairs firm, is pleased to announce that Brandon Patterson has joined the firm as a Senior Vice President in New York. Before joining MAD Global Strategy, Patterson led State and Local Government Affairs at Spotify, and previously oversaw Salesforce’s Northeast Government Affairs’ operation.
“Brandon is a highly regarded government affairs strategist with extensive experience across both the public and private sectors,” said Mike DuHaime, Founder and CEO, MAD Global. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team, and we know his unique expertise in state legislation and government relations will bring tremendous value to our clients and colleagues.”
At Spotify, Patterson built and led multi-state government affairs operations, developing coordinated 50-state policy strategies and shaping regional frameworks across the Northeast. He played a leading role in defeating AI and licensing proposals that threatened the creative and technology sectors, securing key carveouts in social media legislation to avoid burdensome compliance requirements, and negotiating first-in-the-nation consumer affairs legislation in New York.
Patterson is a recognized multi-state government affairs strategist and technology policy specialist who operates at the intersection of corporate leadership and statehouse power. He has expertise in artificial intelligence, emerging technology regulation, and consumer protection policy.
“Brandon is highly regarded for his strategic insights in both New York politics and the business sector,” said Alex Voetsch, Managing Director at MAD Global. “We look forward to welcoming Brandon to our team and collaborating with him as we strengthen our capabilities here in New York.”
Prior to entering the private sector, Patterson served in senior leadership roles in the New York State Senate, where he developed a reputation as a hands-on problem solver for businesses and communities navigating complex regulatory systems.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about helping organizations navigate the policy landscape and achieve meaningful outcomes,” said Patterson. “I’m excited to join such a talented team and utilize my experience in government affairs and public policy to help clients create new opportunities and solve challenges.”
In addition to his corporate and legislative experience, Patterson serves on nonprofit boards, providing governance oversight and strategic counsel. His ability to operate across corporate, governmental, and nonprofit ecosystems makes him a uniquely versatile advisor for clients navigating complex, multi-state regulatory environments.
Patterson holds a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University at Albany.
