CARY EVANS

JD, MPP

Cary Evans served as Vice President, Communications and Government Affairs Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, also overseeing marketing and community relations over the last six years, leading these pillars through Covid-19 and the merger between CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason.

Prior to his recent role, Cary served as government affairs director at Stand for Children, an education reform non-profit, and he owned West Meridian, part of the national Meridian family of companies specializing in strategic political consulting and public affairs.

He also developed strategy, communications, media advocacy, grassroots, and political campaigns for corporate and political clients across many states, including Ford Motor Company, Coca-Cola, and Verizon. In addition, he served as senior staff and consultant for multiple U.S. presidential campaigns, including Bush Cheney 2004.

Cary holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. He also has a Bachelor of Arts from Claremont McKenna College. He spends his free time with his wife and three children, and he referees soccer in the Northwest for all ages at many levels.
