TAYLOR VAN KIRK

Taylor Van Kirk is a Vice President in MAD Global Strategy’s Ohio office, where she specializes in strategic communication, media relations and government affairs. In her role, she is responsible for media engagement, reputation management, strategic messaging and legislative advocacy for clients ranging major corporations, non-profit organizations, and political campaigns. She recently served as Communications Director for Senator JD Vance’s campaign where she built a nationally recognized press operation.

Van Kirk previously served as Press Secretary for the Ohio Speaker of the House and the Majority Caucus. As spokeswoman, she played a key role in developing and executing communications strategy on issues ranging from education and healthcare to transportation and pandemic relief. She led targeted media outreach initiatives and provided guidance on strategic messaging to House members and the Speaker.

Before joining the Ohio House, Van Kirk worked at prominent public relations and crisis communications firms in Washington, D.C., where she worked with public companies, foreign entities, financial services companies and start-ups. She has substantial experience serving clients in industries spanning the technology, cannabis, venture capital, education, real estate and telecommunications sectors.

Van Kirk also worked at one of the world’s largest and most elite law firms, handling all media engagement for practice groups, lawyers, lobbyists, and former government officials across the entire U.S. region.

In 2018, Van Kirk worked at the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg for the State Department, supporting the media relations and outreach efforts of the Public Affairs Office and drafting speeches for the Ambassador.

Van Kirk has a BA from Xavier University and an MA from American University. She lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, Rob.
